7 Cannabis New Year’s Resolutions

How I’m Improving My Relationship With Cannabis in 2023—Plus How You Can Win a Private Sesh With Me!

It’s a New Year! And I’m definitely feeling the call to clear out the old energies and start fresh!

You’ve probably heard me talk before about the importance of intention-setting, so you know your girl is a fan of making New Year’s resolutions. #capricornlife

Normally, I don’t share mine publicly….but I was inspired by a fellow cannapreneur’s blog, by Doreen Sullivan at My Bud Vase, and decided to give you a peek into my 2023 goals.

Plus I’m participating in a New Year’s Resolution Sweepstakes with all of the brands mentioned in that blog—you can win a free 30 min private Zoom sesh with me, Royal Blunts wrappers, and a copy of my Cannabinoids Ebook. Enter here for your chance to win!

Alright, let’s get to it. I hope this list inspires you to enhance your relationship with cannabis this year.

1. EARN YOUR SMOKE

One of my cannabis resolutions for the year is to earn my smoke because sometimes we can get caught up in mindless, or even excessive, consumption.

So for me, I’ve been making sure that I knock out my to-do list before I even allow myself to consume.

It’s something new that I've started this New Year, and I feel like it's been super effective for my productivity so far!

2. BLESS THE BLUNT

Always set your intention before consuming. Period.

People love to set intentions for the entire year on January 1st (and then forget about them soon after). So let’s be real—the most important intention-setting we do is in the small moments on a daily basis.

This is especially true with cannabis. If you are anxious or upset about work, and you consume in that mindset, it’s going to amplify the negative emotions.

So make sure you are intentional about what you want to experience from your sesh.

For me, after I earn my smoke, if I still have other things to get done—like if I need to cook dinner, or help with homework—I set my intention to help me focus and give me patience to get through sixth grade math.

Or I'll just say, give me the creativity and love to put into the dinner I’m making for my family tonight.

If you’re new to smoking with intention, get on the waitlist for my upcoming cannabis & spirituality course, My Highest Self, and I’ll teach you how I do it!

3. USE FILTER TIPS

This is such a small upgrade, but essential to your enjoyment…

We’ve got to use filter tips when we roll our joints and blunts!

It's 2023, no more Scooby Snacks.

(Scooby Snacks are the little bits of weed that fly into your mouth when you hit a joint….no more!)

And if you’re new to rolling up, I have a short video where I share my secrets to rolling the perfect blunt—or my magic wand, as I like to call it!

Or you can win a free 30 minute private Zoom sesh where I’ll teach you how, as part of this giveaway!

4. KEEP YOUR GLASS AS CLEAN AS YOUR 🤭

This New Year, can we please PLEASE all resolve to make sure our glass is clean?!

Dirty glass is a bacteria & mold breeding ground, and there are too many respiratory infections going around. Lots of flus and RSV that's happening…not to mention the dreaded C word.

Keeping clean glass is just better for your health and immunity protection. You don't want to be susceptible to getting any of these viruses that are out there.

And to top it all off, dirty glass can give off unpleasant odors and flavors.

So make sure you're cleaning your glass like you clean your ass…..regularly!

My favorite way to do this is by making a white vinegar & baking soda solution, though you may need to let it soak overnight.

But the more often you clean your glass, the easier it is to maintain. So worth it.

5. MARIE KONDO YOUR STASH

Because it's the New Year—and for me, also my birthday—I am spring cleaning my entire house!

And that includes organizing my cannabis stash. There's nothing like having a nice, organized place to go to to find everything….versus just having it all jumbled up in a box.

I’m getting all my grinders, all my papers, and creating a beautiful aesthetic that even Marie Kondo would be proud of.

Things I’ve learned while cleaning up my stash? I’ve got a lot more than I thought I did.

How often do we buy things we don’t need because we didn’t even realize what we had!

Plus I found various flower and edibles that I didn’t vibe with, so I can gift them to friends and create more space. Win-win.

6. EAT YOUR WEED

As I was organizing my pantry, I came across hemp seed and hemp protein—just the reminder I needed to consume this plant daily, in non-smoke form!

Especially right now, it's cold and flu season. Getting hemp seed in your diet is a perfect immunity booster.

So I’m committing to making a hemp protein smoothie daily.

How do I use the seeds? Sprinkling them onto my cereal, salads, or yogurt for an extra crunch & nutrient boost. Yum!

Plus I really love this resolution because it’s one way that everyone can enjoy some of the benefits of this plant….even my friends in prohibition states!

(Not sure what the difference between cannabis & hemp is? I break it all down in this blog.)

7. UP YOUR ADVOCACY

No doubt, some progress was made in 2022. Several more states legalized, and then there was President Biden’s Pot Pardon.

But, we all know there’s still a long, long road ahead to repair the harms done (still being done) by the War on Drugs.

This New Year, I’m feeling grateful for the progress, but determined to keep pushing forward in the year to come.

If you’re wondering how you can possibly make a difference, there are so many ways! And they can even be as simple as having conversations with people and sharing your story.

Speaking the truth = crushing the stigma!

If you’re looking for more ways to up your advocacy, I’ve laid out the 8 Keys to Being an Advocate in this free guide.

There you have it! The 7 Resolutions I’m committing to in 2023 to improve my own relationship with cannabis, and hopefully our society’s relationship too.

Feeling inspired? Write down your resolutions on a sticky note, and put them somewhere you’ll see them everyday!

Then, tell a friend about it so you can keep each other accountable.

And don’t forget to enter this giveaway hosted by 12 incredible cannabis brands. Winning a $1550 prize basket is definitely one way to start this year on a high note!

Peace ✌️
