Cannabis Use And Criminality: The Most Tired Stereotype Of AlL

The Anti-Cannabis Propaganda Keeps Coming….Time to Shut It Down!

In 2023, can we please stop associating cannabis use and criminality?

This is one of the oldest plays in the anti-weed playbook, and I don’t know about you, but I am over. it.

A recent article in the San Diego Union Tribune reports that juveniles arrested in San Diego county are more likely than adults to have vaped or dabbed cannabis.

And this is relevant because……?

Sadly, it’s only relevant if you’re trying to whip up some anti-cannabis propaganda that reinforces your own viewpoint.

There's a good chance that these teenagers have also used Juul or drank alcohol. But the report is primarily focused on cannabis use instead. 🤦

And according to the article, “The findings rely on answers from 195 adults and 37 juveniles who participated in the survey.”

Not exactly what I’d call an adequate sample size.

But sample sizes don’t matter, as long as it makes for a catchy headline!

The article continues that 89% of adults and juveniles combined said their marijuana use was beneficial.

About 64 percent said it helped them deal with anxiety—the top benefit—as well as with ADHD.

Adolescents are reporting across the board that cannabis helps improve their mental health!

And yet, we’re focusing on the negatives of the situation, which is that they got arrested for something probably not at all related to their cannabis use?!

Let’s try this again…

Cannabis Helps Adolescents To Cope With Stress & Improve Mental Health
